The Phlas Spacers are made of PaperFoam, a mix of paper fibers and industrial starch.

According to the current product status, used spacers can be disposed of with waste paper or composted. Local disposal regulations are decisive.

Product Safety Information

The spacers are an essential component of the controlled application of the Phlas skin care device. They define the required distance to the skin, limit the application area, and prevent direct contact with the plasma source.

Phlas may only be used with a designated and properly attached spacer.

The spacer must be replaced every three days. Earlier replacement is necessary if the spacer:

  • is visibly soiled,
  • has become damp,
  • is damaged or deformed,
  • is used on particularly sensitive or stressed skin.

Do not use:

  • without a Phlas device,
  • on injured or damp skin,
  • on eyes, lips, mucous membranes, or other unintended body parts,
  • in case of visible damage or deformation,
  • if the spacer is not securely seated on the device.

Application must be carried out exclusively according to the Phlas device's operating instructions.

Phlas Spacers are an essential component of the Phlas cold plasma system.

They have been specifically developed to ensure a constant distance between the device and the skin and to create a defined application area. Within this area, the reactive oxygen and nitrogen species generated by the device are kept within the intended application area and guided evenly to the skin surface. This supports a controlled and reproducible application.

Two sizes for different skin areas

  • Large Spacer – for larger skin areas, such as on the cheeks or forehead.
  • Small Spacer – for smaller or hard-to-reach skin areas, such as on the nose and chin, and for individual blemishes.

This allows the application to be specifically adapted to different facial areas and skin regions.

Hygienic and compostable

The spacers have been specifically developed for use on sensitive skin prone to blemishes or redness. They form a hygienic, interchangeable interface between the device and the skin, preventing direct contact with the device.

The lightweight PaperFoam material is designed for regular replacement and supports hygienic application. At the same time, the material is compostable: After use, the spacers can be disposed of via paper waste or compost according to local disposal regulations.

If one spacer is used continuously, a pack of ten spacers theoretically lasts up to 30 application days. The spacer should be replaced sooner if it is dirty, damaged, moist, or if the skin is particularly sensitive.

Why are spacers important for the application?

The spacers are an integral part of the Phlas system. They define the distance and air volume between the device and the skin, thereby creating the intended conditions for a controlled cold plasma application. Phlas must therefore not be used without spacers.
Which spacer is the right one?

The large spacer is suitable for larger skin areas such as the cheeks or forehead. The small spacer is designed for individual or hard-to-reach areas, for example on the nose or chin.
Why do spacers need to be changed regularly?

Since the spacer rests directly on the skin, sebum, skin flakes, and residues can collect on it. For hygienic use, you should generally change it every three days – sooner if it is dirty, damaged, or if you have particularly sensitive skin.

Can I wash the spacers?

No. The spacers are made of the sustainable material PaperFoam® and are not intended to be cleaned with water. Keep them dry and replace them according to the recommended replacement interval.
How do I store a used spacer?

Remove the spacer from the device after Phlas application by gently pressing it together at the side edges and pulling it off. Store the spacer dry and hygienically afterwards.
