How to use Phlas correctly

60 seconds per area | 1–2× daily | before serum & cream

Phlas is to be used on clean, completely dry skin. Select the appropriate Phlas Spacer, turn on the device, and wait until the light ring glows green. Then, position Phlas on the desired skin area and start the 60-second application. Hold the device still and steady during this time. Repeat the process for other skin areas. Afterwards, you can apply your usual skincare routine.

1. Cleanse & fully dry skin

Remove makeup and skincare products, then completely dry your skin. Phlas is always applied to clean, dry skin.

2. Attach the appropriate spacer

Choose the large spacer for larger or multiple skin areas close together, and the small spacer for individual or hard-to-reach spots. Slide the spacer onto Phlas until it clicks into place.

3. Switch on Phlas

Press the power button. The light ring pulsates cool white during the short warm-up phase.

Once the light ring illuminates solid green, Phlas is ready.

4. Set up & launch application

Place the spacer completely on the desired skin area. The edge of the spacer should lie evenly on the skin.

Then press the power button again.

The light ring turns blue: The 60-second cold plasma application is running.

Hold Phlas still during this time.

Do not glide or wipe over the skin.

5. Next area or care

After 60 seconds, the plasma application automatically ends. Phlas vibrates briefly and the light ring changes from blue back to green.

For another skin area, you reapply Phlas and start a new 60-second application.

After completion:
Remove spacer → Store Phlas dry → Apply your usual skincare.

Good to know

Why do I need to cleanse my skin beforehand?

Make-up, sebum, and residues from skincare products form a layer on the skin's surface. To ensure that the generated cold plasma species can come into direct contact with the skin's surface, Phlas is applied to clean, product-free skin.

Why must my skin be completely dry before application?

Water on the skin surface can affect the composition and reactions of the cold plasma species produced. Phlas is therefore designed for use on completely dry skin. This ensures the intended conditions for a controlled and reproducible cold plasma application.

Why does Phlas need a spacer?

The spacer is an important component of Phlas technology. It defines the distance to the skin and a precisely determined air volume, which is crucial for the coordinated parameters of cold plasma generation. This ensures that the generated cold plasma species can act on the desired skin area in the intended composition and concentration.

At the same time, the spacer forms the hygienic interface between Phlas and the skin. Therefore, it is regularly replaced – generally every three days, or sooner if it is soiled, damaged, or if the skin is particularly sensitive. Phlas must not be used without a spacer.

Can I combine Phlas with my existing skincare routine?

Yes. Phlas can be easily integrated into your existing routine: first cleanse and dry, then apply Phlas, and then apply your usual skincare. You don't have to replace your existing routine; instead, you complement it with the Phlas application.

What can I do if my skin feels dry afterwards?

Your skin may feel dry or taut after use. If this is the case, you can then apply a moisturizing, well-tolerated skin care product. If the application feels uncomfortable or if significant skin irritations occur, you should discontinue use.

Why shouldn't I move Phlas during the 60 seconds?

The spacer should lie flat on the skin during use. This maintains the defined treatment area and ensures that the cold plasma species act precisely on the selected spot. If the spacer is moved during treatment, the plasma species dissipate and the effect is reduced. Therefore, hold the Phlas still for the entire 60 seconds and do not glide it over the skin.

Are odor, noise, or slight warmth during use normal?

Yes. When cold plasma is generated, a slight characteristic odor and quiet operating noises may occur. A slight warming may also be noticeable. If the application becomes uncomfortable or feels too warm, you should discontinue it.
